At the end of the lesson we were playing a board game. We have played many times. And yet, some students cannot distinguish between Present Simple and Present continuous. I know it is a bit difficult but you are young and clever and only have to pay a little attention.

Present Simple ( it is simple, it is only 1 word) We use it for actions we repeat in time: we do them usually, always, never, everyday, etc.
Example:

I make my bed everyday

or

My mother doesn't cook at the weekends

Present Continuous: (2 words: am, are or is + verb+ing) We use it for actions we are doing now, today, at this moment, this morning, tonight, etc.)

Example

Now, I am writing the blog for C5.

Today, the C5 children are not coming to the English School  because it is Wednesday.

HOMEWORK

1. Study the words.

2. Go to the link and do the exercises. By the way, this is the Present Simple, we use for routines.http://www.englishexercises.org/makeagame/viewgame.asp?id=6234
